Last Thursday, Olivia’s Mum came in to First Class Red to tell us all about Thanksgiving. They celebrate this festival every year in the USA, where Olivia is from. We listened to a story about how Thanksgiving was invented. After this, we created some feathered headdresses, like the ones the Native Americans wore. On the back of each feather, we wrote something that we were thankful for. We then wore these at our celebration lunch, where we tasted sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. These are foods that are traditionally eaten at Thanksgiving Dinner in North Carolina. We had a wonderful time!
