1st and 2nd year students participated in an interactive science workshop called “Everyday Experimenting” led by an expert science facilitator Vivienne from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
The students learned about the science of energy. Using every day materials they investigated simple scientific principles such as “what will happen if you mix vinegar and baking soda?” or “can you really make a battery out of a potato?”. Finally they got to carry out their own experiments such as “flying canisters” and shared their learning experiences with the class.
A special thanks to Ms. Bernice Cronin for organising the workshop.
