On Saturday, the 3rd of September Enda O’Doherty came into our school to educate us about studying. We learnt a lot, including how doing even 10 minutes a day of study, 6 days a week means you will have done 36 hours of study by the end of the school year.
Everyone that went to the seminar including the teachers enjoyed it thoroughly. One girl from third year said that “it was the most inspirational talk she had ever been given”.
Mr O’Doherty taught us that having goals and setting times for your goals and sharing them with someone will make you want to complete your goals. He also gave us a lot of motivational tips for studying that changed the way I, personally, thought of school and studying, for example, “the effort that you put into school now will affect the next 40 years of our lives” and “if you don’t plan to revise plan to fail”.
Over all I thought it was an extremely helpful day and I feel it will benefit me greatly for my upcoming exams.
