The Stolen Child is is a sparkling new story by award-winning playwright Joe O’Donnell (inspired by the poem by WB Yeats) performed by a group of young seasoned performers from John Scottus School in Dublin, with the part of the Faerie Host danced by members of the Irish National Youth Ballet choreographed by Stephen Brennan – and with an original music score by Fran Dempsey played by a ten-piece orchestra. It is suitable for all ages!
The production is a collaboration between students of John Scottus School (whose annual drama output includes a full length Shakespearean play) and the Irish National Youth Ballet choreographed by Stephen Brennan (by kind permission of Ballet Ireland). It has an original music score written by Fran Dempsey A.R.I.A.M H&C (known in the past for his many appearances on RTE television and who has been Head of Music at John Scottus Secondary School for many years). The story is inspired by the poem The Stolen Child by WB Yeats whose centenary is celebrated this year and is written by Joe O’Donnell former producer, director and Head of Young People’s Programmes RTE television.
