On Monday the 11th of December, members of the Senior Boys Soccer team traveled to Sallynoggin to participate in an indoor 5 aside tournament hosted by Holy Child Sallynoggin. After a slow start to the tournament the boys played some great football and managed to finish the league section in 3rd place, meaning they had qualified for the semi final. The John Scottus boys faced a far more physical Holy Child team in the semi final but two quick goals at the start of the game set them on their way to a 3-1 win. The final saw them play a very dominant Cabinteely side who had went unbeaten in the league section of the tournament. Again our boys started very brightly with a goal from Christain Madden giving us an excellent start. Unfortunately the we just couldn’t hold on and despite a very strong finish to the game, ended up losing 2-1. Three and half hours, ten games and an abundance of goals later the boys headed back to school with a second place finish.
