Seachtain na Gaeilge was held in the school from the week beginning 13th March and concluded with our customary céilí on Thursday 16th march. The preparations however had begun the previous week, with among other activities, Irish dancing classes given by Ms. Gillan! All classes from 1st to 3rd years received instruction and much fun was had!
Our in-school activities included Tráth na gCeist, Tóraíocht Taisce (a treasure hunt consisting of general knowledge questions, hidden throughout the school building), and a Comórtas Póstaer. The artistic standard this year was splendid and student’s work will be displayed in the school! Winners to the various competitions will be announced shortly
Students were encouraged to speak Irish as much as possible throughout the week and prizes will be awarded to those who made an effort to speak the language.
This year’s céilí added an extra and exciting dimension to our SnaG in that it was held at Old Conna, our new home! The rain held off and a great time was had by all, all of whom wore green outfits on the day. We were delighted to be joined by the primary school children for the céilí as well, not to mention some brave but nimble staff members!
Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir as bhur gcomhluadar ar an ocáid speisialta seo!
