Yoga has been received very well and is offered to all classes.
DCU Y path program: DCU will return to the school next Monday and 1st years will complete a 30min on line survey about their physical activity. This will be done during PE class. They also commence their 9day pedometer step challenge.
The Senior and Minor hockey teams play their first friendly matches September 25thagainst Holy Faith Clontarf. League matches follow next week for Seniors in St Andrews, Booterstown and the following week for minors against Loreto on the Green
The new Dublin Ultimate Frisbee league begins next Thursday 3rd October at 2pm with a tournament in Loughlinstown Leisure centre and includes JSS, Gonzaga, CBS Lucan, CSB Nass and St Colmcilles of Knocklyon. John Scottus Seniors were overalll winners of Schools Ultimate Frisbee Blitz in Loughlinstown Leisure Centre April 2013.
Our 2/3 year girls will be taking part in a Ulitimate Frisbee blitz on Wed 16th Oct 2pm in Gonzaga. Female coaches from Dublin Ulimate will be present to mentor the girls and it is a initiative to keep the girls engaged in physical activity.
Soccer: we are continuing to encourage the boys to attend training and we hope to have teams for matches which commence in October.
FitClub: numbers were excellent until junior Cert music was timetabled on Thursday after school. Fitclub will be rescheduled to Tuesday as the girls were very enthusiastic about it.
Basketball with Siobhan Griffin: this has been a great way of engaging non soccer/hockey students and the 1st and 2nd years into after school activity. We will commence the JSS in house basketball league in the coming weeks.
