Our three girls’ squads have been very active with matches over the past few weeks, completing all of the games in the group stages of their respective competitions.
Minors:
Our girls Minor team played a home match against Santa Sabina at Three Rock Rovers in Rathfarnham, where they narrowly lost 2-1. Despite creating numerous opportunities with plenty of shots on goal, victory eluded them that day. They faced another close defeat away at Wesley College, where the team showed great spirit and fighting effort.
Juniors:
Our Juniors participated in three away matches against Loreto Beaufort in Rathfarnham, Loreto Bray, and Templecarrig in Greystones. They achieved a 2-1 victory against Loreto Beaufort but faced two close defeats in the other matches. Throughout all the games, there was plenty of attacking play. Both the Minor and Junior squads have completed their league matches and are looking forward to some friendly games coming up. The first friendly will be against Rosemount School after the mid-term break.
1st Years:
The first-year girls team started their 11-a-side league this term. Their first match was held at ALSAA against Holy Faith Clontarf, which they won 1-0, with the goal scored by Brooke Campbell. This victory places the girls at the top of their league. We look forward to upcoming matches against Loreto Foxrock, Mount Sackville, Chapelizod, and Muckross in Donnybrook over the next few weeks.
