Our JSS Athletics Club kicked off the New Year with the East Leinster Cross Country Championships held in Phoenix Park. It was a fantastic day for everyone involved, and the JSS team put in some impressive performances. Special recognition goes out to Oisín Donelon and Emmanuel Keene, who qualified for the Leinster Championships in February in the Intermediate Boys Division.
At the beginning of February, Oisín Donelon and Emmanuel Keened once again travelled to Phoenix Park to compete in the Leinster Cross Country Championships. Athletes from schools all over Leinster took part in the 4.5km race. Over one hundred participants took to the start line in very tough running conditions. Oisín finished in a time of 17:00 for 39th place, and Emmanuel came home in 17:22, good enough for 51st place. It was a great performance and achievement from the two boys.
With the Cross-Country season now ending, our attention now turns to the track and field season. We are looking forward to many more enjoyable days out ahead. Please click here for some photos of our last two athletics events.
