This week in our Creative Writing lesson with Miss Dempsey our Junior Learning group were focusing on descriptive writing and in particular on adjectives.
During the lesson, the children were asked to pick something they would like to describe. One of the children picked a tree. Miss Dempsey asked her to imagine she was in a forest standing beside a tree. To connect with her senses and describe what she could hear, see, touch and smell.
Trees
Trees are long and big.
Trees are very strong.
They are green and brown.
They are very leafy.
Perhaps the description was inspired by all the lovely mature trees in our school garden
