The final game of the boys Junior Hockey league took place on Wednesday the 25th of January. The John Scottus Boys took on Temple Carrig and while neither team was in a position to advance to a semi final both were eager to finish their seasons with a win.
It was John Scottus who started the brighter and continued to dominate for most of the first half but could not find a way through the Temple Carrig defence.
The pressure continued in the second half and this time JSS reaped the rewards. A dangerous ball across the face of goal from Jack Bruton was steered home by Christian Madden to give John Scottus a one goal advantage.
Although idle for the majority of the game Peter McMullan had to be alert to prevent a Temple Carrig counter attack resulting in a goal.
The JSS pressure continued and late in the game some great work from Kito Curry provided the tireless Jack Bruton with the ball just inside the D. With time and space on his side jack made no mistake in calmly slotting the ball in the corner to double the lead and give the boys a very positive end to the hockey season.
