3rd Class went on a trip into town on Thursday morning to visit the GPO – one of the most important building during the 1916 Rising. We examined the pillars outside and found bullet holes. We examined the outside of the building and then the inside. We walked to Moore Street where we saw the buildings to which the Rebels retreated after they had to evacuate the GPO. We finished our by looking at Michael’s O’Rahilly’s plaque which was dedicated to his wife Nancy. Get the full story by asking any 3rd class student you see!
