What is eLearning?
eLearning has many definitions. One example is Learning which is facilitated by the use of digital tools and content.
A number of Irish Secondary Schools, including John Scottus Senior School, are developing on-line teaching and learning resources. There are a number of commercial platforms available, but John Scottus Senior School have adopted Moodle as a platform for developing second-level courses. Teaching and learning resources are managed in a database, students can submit assignments developed on computers, and on-line assessment and grades are recorded. The project is in the early stages of development.
What is Moodle?
Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It has become very popular among educators around the world as a tool for creating online dynamic web sites for their students.
